Handicap International is a state-approved organisation holding the necessary authorization to receive legacies which are not subject to inheritance tax.  Legacies can be in the form of money, securities, stocks and shares or real estate.
If you decide to bequeath all or part  of your inheritance to Handicap International, or to make a donation or designate the organisation as the beneficiary of your life assurance policy, you are choosing to pass on your values as well as contributing to the long-term future of our mission which is to help disabled children and their families throughout the world to get their lives back on track.

There are several ways in which you can pass on your estate in order to contribute to Handicap International's work. However you choose to do it, your gift will be allocated to the country or programme of your choice.

- A legacy is a document which is part of your will. The legacy only comes into effect when the person who has made the will dies and it can be changed or annulled at any time.

- A donation is a document drawn up by a solicitor for an individual who wishes to make a gift from his or her estate.

- Life assurance is a policy taken out with a bank or insurance company. It enables an individual to build up capital and the policy can be passed on in the event of death. Life assurance policies are subject to a special, advantageous tax scheme.
