More than 2.500 team members currently work for Handicap International in a professional capacity as volunteers and salaried staff at head office or in the field. They share the association's values and bring their professionalism and skills to Handicap International's missions, working in constantly evolving fields of activity.
 
The need for professionalism in the field, along with the increasing demand for local capacity-building, have led the association to focus its recruitment on applicants with a minimum of 2 years professional experience in their field of expertise.
A commitment to the association's culture is also an important element in the collaborative relationship that it seeks to develop with its staff. Handicap International expects everyone to demonstrate a certain level of commitment, whatever their post, and be ready to mobilise themselves when needed, particularly in emergency situations.
The association is careful to respect the local legislation in all the countries in which it operates, and ensures its management approaches guarantee equal treatment for all its staff members. Its human resources management policy is based on values and principles that reflect the association's mandate.
In terms of remuneration, the charitable nature of Handicap International's activities means that salaries are moderate in comparison with those offered in the commercial sector in order to devote the greatest possible share of its resources to the association's goals.
Handicap International France's pay scales, which apply to both head office staff and expatriate staff, are nevertheless designed to be sufficiently attractive to enable us to recruit staff members with the skills needed to ensure the effective management of the association, and flexible enough to reflect  individual skills development.
