Professional ethics and code of conduct Handicap International's team members, including expatriate staff and national staff, work with vulnerable groups in crisis situations or with people living in conditions of extreme poverty. They are expected to comply with the association's rules relating to the protection of beneficiaries, and in particular children, and to respect and remain neutral with regards to its partners, populations and local authorities.
Dedicated to respecting human dignity, they will refrain from all forms of human exploitation, in particular child labour, prostitution and any form of sexual abuse.
Expatriates are asked to be particularly careful not to abuse the power inherent in their situation as expatriates, even involuntarily.
