
July 2010 - Six months after a devastating earthquake hit Haiti on 12 January 2010, Handicap International's mission in Haiti now includes over 500 people, including 80 expatriate staff - the largest deployment in the association's history.
The association operates in several areas:
• health
(orthopaedic-fitting centre, follow-up of injured persons, etc.)
• basic needs
(distribution, temporary shelters, etc.)
• logistics
(management of a fleet of lorries and transport of humanitarian aid)

Benoît Aurenche was present in Haiti on the day the earthquake struck. He continued his mission as the manager of the logistics platform until the end of June.
